Floors in aquarium becomes non-slip with SWISS GriP Anti-Slip.

The Seaworld Aquarium had slip problems, the penguins were always slipping. With SWISS GriP AntiSlip the floor became non-slip.

Sea Life Bangkok is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bangkok. But even the penguins, for whom ice is not a problem, slipped again and again in their aquarium. There have been slipping accidents with the nimble penguins and even accidents in which penguins injured themselves. On the "Penguin's walkway", the path between the rock formations and the water tank, there was a kind of cement floor with white polyurethane. This surface with mortar based on epoxy resin was very slippery and never really dried. The small animals were slipping on it rather involuntarily.

The zoo was therefore looking for a non-slip solution to ensure that the animals could walk on it and found it in SWISS GriP Anti-Slip. SWISS GriP Safety Coatings, together with Myako Thailand Co Ltd. as local partner and leading distributor in Thailand, dedicated itself to the project. There were several reasons why the decision was made to use the non-slip surface coating SWISS GriP Anti-Slip: The granular, water-based two-component coating is environmentally friendly, meets all current hygiene standards and is insensitive to disinfectants. The surface can be easily cleaned with standard cleaning agents and even high-pressure cleaners. The material is transparent and does not change the appearance and design of the penguin house. If necessary, the coating can be removed easily and without leaving any residue.

SWISS GriP anti-slip was applied to a total area of 60 square meters. No special preparations were necessary, only a thorough cleaning preceded the work. SWISS GriP Anti-Slip flooring of the anti-slip class R11 was used. The technicians used for coating got on well with this, as the application is uncomplicated and easy to handle. Not only is the surface coating easy to apply, but after just twelve hours the surface is ready for use again.

Since the coating with SWISS GriP Anti-Slip, the floors are non-slip. There have been no more accidents in the penguin enclosure and the aquarium inhabitants can walk around safely again.
