Steel staircase with GriP antislip treatment.

A slippery steel spiral staircase in a public university building was made slip- and fall-proof with Grip Antislip Floor.

The Zurich University of Applied Sciences located in the city of Winterthur, with facilities in Zurich and Wädenswil, is one of the largest University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland and is part of the Zürcher Fachhochschule.

&Walking up the stairs repeatedly led to slippery situations. Although the surface of the metal stairs is made of checker plate, people slipped on the slippery metal. Anti-slip strips did not bring the hoped for slip-resistant effect. In addition, the adhesive strips came loose and thus caused another tripping hazard. GriP anti-slip coating was finally applied to the stairs. The metal stairs were prepared by first carrying out a basic cleaning. Then the surface was neutralized, promoter was applied and dry polished. The non-slip stair treads now have the anti-slip class R11. GriP Anti-Slip is transparent and has been developed for surfaces whose appearance should be preserved.
