|Assignment: Treating walkway and staircase to make them slip-resistant, 49 m2, residential building.
Substrate: Porcelain stoneware tiles.
|Antislip Solution: Anti-slip coating of public floors|
Class C: DIN EN 16165 / DIN51097 – Angle of inclination ≥ 24°
Class R11: DIN EN 16165 / DIN51130 – Angle of inclination 19°-27°
The entrances to the flats in the apartment complex are outdoors. Although roofed, the circulation routes are exposed to the weather. Especially when it rained, the outdoor corridors and nearby stairs became slippery. The property management therefore decided to have the floor coverings affected by wetness and humidity treated to prevent slipping. In addition, due to the outdoor location, a weather-resistant and frost-proof anti-slip solution was essential.
The porcelain stoneware tiles were coated with the SWISSGriP spray system and, since the anti-slip treatment, have an R11 anti-slip rating. The anti-slip coating is transparent and, as can be seen in the photos, it is barely visible. The positive change is only perceptible in the tread resistance of the tiles.
