Make tiled outdoor steps non-slip.

Porcelain stoneware stair tiles become non-slip with weatherproof non-slip strips.

Stairs with tile flooring are popular, as they offer endless design options for colors and patterns.
The ornately tiled open staircase to this home provides a beautiful ambiance, but this enjoyment was compromised in the early morning when rain made the steps wet or just morning dew wetted the steps. Moisture and wetness made the step tiles slippery and safe walking in wet weather impossible.

A permanent anti-slip solution was therefore sought, which would not disfigure the stairs and would also be weather resistant. Conventional anti-slip strips are glued on, thus penetrate. Moisture and dirt between adhesive strips and substrate and contaminate the adhesive. The adhesion of the anti-slip strips therefore steadily decreases and they detach from the surface.
Finally, it was decided to apply GriP Anti Slip as anti-slip strips on the stair tiles. Since GriP coatings are directly bonded to the substrate, neither moisture nor protection can penetrate between them. As can be seen in the photos, hardly anything can be seen and it takes special lighting conditions to even see the transparent anti-slip strips.

SWISSGriP anti-slip strips are weatherproof, the coating defies frost, road salt and is UV insensitive, which means that, unlike other anti-slip solutions, the anti-slip coating will not yellow. All these properties result in not only an aesthetic, but above all a durable anti-slip solution.
