Slip protection on stair treads.

The stairs, which are slippery when wet, are treated with SWISSGriP to prevent slipping.

In the entrance area, the stairs lead directly to the other floors. In damp and wet weather conditions, wetness on the stair treads is therefore unavoidable. As the stairs become slippery due to the wetness, a solution was sought to make the steps slip-resistant.
GriP Safety Coatings was contracted to provide anti-slip protection for the staircase and the steps were coated with our safety coating. GriP Anti-Slip is moisture resistant, slip resistant and easy to clean. The stairs now have slip resistance class R11 and employees can walk on the stairs without the fear of slipping.

Stairs and steps are present in most workplaces. Employers must take steps in their workplaces to protect employees from slip, trip and fall hazards on all walking/working surfaces.
The vast majority of falls on stairs result from a loss of balance. A very common factor is the neglect of slip protection measures. Because stair accidents can result in serious injury, building codes for stairs and ramps are rightly very strict. Good slip protection greatly reduces the potential for accidents.
