Pedestrian passage with slip resistance.

600 m2 skid-proof: pedestrian passage from car park to town becomes slip-resistant.

The Schlossberg multi-storey car park in Thun is not a simple multi-storey car park. It is located inside Thun's landmark: the Schlossberg. The castle of Thun, built in 1109, is enthroned on top of a mountain. The castle complex is home to a museum, hotel, restaurant and a venue for events and conferences.

The Swiss construction company WALO is responsible for this unusual building project. After many years of planning and 3 years of construction, the unusual building project with 8 parking decks was inaugurated. On the lowest level -8 a tunnel was pushed through, which also provides an important pedestrian connection from the city center, the Schlossberg and the opposite street. The underground pedestrian passage means that users of the multi-storey car park can also easily reach the city center.

Unfortunately, the polished concrete ground of the passage leading through the mountain was slippery and passers-by ran the risk of slipping. In order to ensure slip resistance, the pedestrian walkway was coated with SWISSGriP AntiSlip. The 300 square meter of concrete flooring was made sure-footed in just one night using the GriP spray system.
