Stair treads with non-slip strips.

Non-slip strips for stairs – not glued – but coated.

Judging by the range of products on offer, adhesive non-slip strips are the preferred non-slip solution for stairs. Inexpensive and widely available, the adhesive strength and durability of the adhesive tapes are discussed. The adhesive between the strip and the surface of the stair tread erodes over time. The glued anti-slip strip loses some of its adhesion and becomes loose – but still hangs on the stair tread. What should be avoided now becomes an accident hazard: tripping hazards caused by loose slip-resistant strips.

GriP non-slip coatings fill the gap here. Our anti-slip strips are not glued, but rolled on. This eliminates the tripping hazards described above. Since the non-slip strips are not glued to the steps with an eroding paste, but are bonded directly to the surface, there is no possibility of dirt particles and air getting in between and causing the adhesive to erode.

In the case of the cream-colored travertine laid here, there is an additional effect. GriP anti-slip coatings are transparent. The visual elegance of the natural stone is retained and is not impaired by glued slip-resistant strips.

The German Social Accident Insurance (DGVU) requires, in accordance with regulations, that employees and visitors be protected from accident hazards, including slip resistance on stair treads. The non-slip coating used here for the non-slip strips has slip resistance class R12.
