Therapy pool with non-slip steel stairs in hospital.

The stainless steel stairs of a therapy pool are coated with GriP AntiSlip Coating.

The Juliusspital Würzburg, founded in 1576, is part of the Klinikum Würzburg Mitte, which comprises 663 plan beds and around 1,900 employees. The physiotherapy spa of the hospital is used, among other things, for orthopedic and traumatic diseases such as spinal disorders, fractures and soft tissue injuries.

Exercise baths are barrier-free and subject to a special hygiene regulation. Thus PH and chlorine values must be checked and documented exactly twice a day.

While access to all rooms is barrier-free, for years there have been problems with the skid resistance of the stairs to the exercise pool. The stairs are made of stainless steel and embossed on the surface with nubs that should actually have a non-slip effect. However, the nubs are smooth and slippery, which presented a significant slip hazard for patients and therapists. For years, various means have been used to achieve slip resistance. Anti-slip stickers and other none-slip solution from different manufacturers have been applied. However, the slip problem could not be got under control. The stairs were still slippery, also anti-slip strips became dirty and the stickers were just unhygienic and not at all helpful. It was particularly difficult for patients, some of whom were prescribed hydrotherapy after surgery.

SWISS GRIP could successfully solve the problem of slipping. The certified SWISS GRIP Bathroom is suitable as non-slip coating on metal, is hygienic and easy to clean.
With SWISS GRIP's non-slip coating, the therapy pool is now accessible without the hazard of slipping. Thus therapeutic goals for the preservation, restoration and improvement of function and performance are now slip-free achievable.
