The Juliusspital Würzburg, founded in 1576, is part of the Klinikum Würzburg Mitte, which comprises 663 plan beds and around 1,900 employees. The physiotherapy spa of the hospital is used, among other things, for orthopedic and traumatic diseases such as spinal disorders, fractures and soft tissue injuries.

While access to all rooms is barrier-free, for years there have been problems with the skid resistance of the stairs to the exercise pool. The stairs were still slippery, also anti-slip strips became dirty and the stickers were just unhygienic and not at all helpful. It was particularly difficult for patients, some of whom were prescribed hydrotherapy after surgery.
