Shower, birthing bathtub and tiles in obstetrics ward with slip-proof coating. The transparent coating makes surfaces hygienically slip-resistant.

When it opened, Mediclinic City Hospital was the first multidisciplinary hospital in Dubai Healthcare City. The hospital has 280 beds and offers specialised treatments in gynaecology, obstetrics and neonatal care, among others. As such, Mediclinic City Hospital is the first baby-friendly private hospital in Dubai. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is a global programme established by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to improve the health and well-being of mothers and babies.

In the birthing room, the birthing bathtub and surrounding tiles were coated to prevent slipping. In addition, the shower and bathroom tiles in the maternity ward were given the highest possible slip-protection class C.

SWISSGriP Safety Coating is an environmentally friendly product and is preferred in clinics because of its hygienic properties. For example, GriP slip-protection is insensitive to disinfectants (test report). In addition, unlike anti-slip mats, anti-slip strips or anti-slip pads, no dirt can accumulate between the surface and the anti-slip product because GriP is bonded directly to the surface. Other advantages over anti-slip mats, strips and pads are the ease of cleaning and the safety that GriP coatings cannot slip away.
