Exposed concrete exterior floor becomes non-slip.

Pergolas with concrete floors are treated to be non-slip.

The Wallrüti school building is the largest school building in Winterthur. The impressive new building is surrounded by pergolas on all three floors. The floors of the pergolas are made of exposed concrete and were slippery in wet weather. The building authority responsible for the school building was looking for a solution to control the slipping hazard of the concrete floor.

The aim was to find a non-slip solution that was both weather-resistant and did not alter the appearance of the new building. SWISSGriP anti-slip coating with certified slip resistance class R11 was applied to the 2500 square meters. The GASG spraying method was used for the enormous surface area. After the concrete floor had been cleaned and the edges taped off, a bonding agent was applied, and then the concrete surface was sprayed with SWISSGriP anti-slip coating.
