Stone stairs with anti-slip coating.

Concrete stairs in a residential building with GriP anti-slip floor R11.

In a newly constructed residential building with 56 condominiums, the residents were repeatedly exposed to slip hazards. The concrete stairs were smooth and slippery even when dry. A simple and sustainable way to avoid the danger of slipping on the subsoil and to make the steps slip-proof was sought.

The architects' office a4D Architekten AG, Zurich chose GriP Antirutsch as the solution. With GriP Antirutsch coatings, the staircase is neither visually altered nor is the surface structure of the material attacked (unlike acid coatings). The transparent coating is easy to clean even with commercial cleaning methods. The users of the staircase can therefore use the stairs in a anti-slip way and anti-slip safety is guaranteed even when wet.
