The LIDO beach resort is one of the most beautiful outdoor swimming pools with a sandy beach on Lake Lucerne. It is a wonderful destination for young and old, families, sportsmen and women and walkers.
The floors and footpaths of the outdoor pool have exposed concrete flooring. Concrete is a building material artificially produced from natural products. It consists of rock, sand and gravel, limestone and clay cement as well as water. During drying and hardening, chemical processes ensure that the concrete is crystalline. Exposed concrete differs from conventional concrete flooring primarily in the nature of the surface, the balanced appearance and the pore size. Exposed concrete is ground and polished to achieve an even shinier surface with an already smooth finish.
The management of LIDO has observed time and again that the concrete floor became a very slippery surface when wet. Particularly in the cloakrooms and in front of the shower and toilet areas, a mirror-smooth surface was repeatedly created. Many wet feet and dripping people: The exposed concrete floor became a real slippery surface due to the high frequency. Especially running children and elderly people ran to slip on the smooth surface.
This prompted the operators to find a safe and quick solution that would be slip-resistant and guarantee non-slip safety. The company decided to use the GriP anti-slip coating. The anti-slip coating used is transparent and solvent-free - the surface is therefore neither changed nor damaged. After just twelve hours, the partial surfaces were accessible again. GriP Anti-Slip flooring was applied to the total of 80 m², this specification guarantees the anti-slip class R11. The coated surface now offers slip resistance and staff and visitors are happy about this positive change. The ease of maintenance is also an important argument in the outdoor pool: GriP AntiSlip meets all current hygiene standards and is insensitive to disinfectants. The surface can be easily cleaned with standard floor cleaners, high-pressure cleaners and suction brush machines. the outdoor pool is now non-slip thanks to the non-slip coating from GriP Safety Coatings and guests can enjoy their stay without slipping.
