Making bathtubs slip-resistant.

Highest slip resistance class C for bathtubs in hotels.

Bathroom safety is often underestimated, especially in showers and bathtubs where wetness and slippery surfaces significantly increase the risk of accidents. For businesses such as hotels, ensuring a safe environment is crucial. Making bathtubs slip-resistant is therefore a very sensible measure—especially because wet surfaces can become extremely slippery. There are several practical anti-slip solutions available, depending on budget, aesthetics, and desired durability:

  1. Anti-slip mats for bathtubs are simple and affordable; they are attached to the tub with suction cups, are quick to install, and can be easily removed. Downside: they can slip and are difficult to clean. There is also a risk of mold growth on the underside.
  2. Anti-slip stickers/strips are applied directly to the tub. Anti-slip stickers for bathtubs are more discreet than anti-slip mats. However, the anti-slip stickers become unsightly over time and only adhere for a few months—depending on usage and the degree of soiling.
  3. SWISSGriP anti-slip coating, on the other hand, is a permanent anti-slip solution: virtually invisible, antibacterial, and easy to clean. It also offers excellent grip: LGA/TÜV certified with the highest slip resistance class, C.

For long-lasting slip resistance in the bathtub, SWISSGriP anti-slip coatings are the best choice. They last significantly longer than anti-slip mats or stickers and are more hygienic as well as visually unobtrusive. In the photos of the bathtubs, our transparent anti-slip coating is barely visible. Once applied, SWISSGriP is the long-term solution: We typically recoat hotel shower trays and bathtubs after a decade; see references for bathrooms with slip resistance class C.
