Eligible for German nursing care insurance subsidy
When nursing care becomes necessary, measures often need to be taken to modify the living environment in order to make care at home possible or to enable the person requiring care to lead as independent a life as possible once more. However, different people need different levels of care.
The application for nursing care insurance services is made to the covering nursing care fund. The fund then instructs the medical services to assess whether the applicant needs care, and whether the requirements have therefore been met for receiving nursing care insurance services.
For each measure and each level of care, an allowance of up to €2,577 may be paid as a service provided by the German nursing care insurance scheme. A typical measure is to increase the level of slip prevention by installing GriP AntiSlip®.
Care level I. Significant need of care
“Significant need of care” begins when help is required for at least 90 minutes on average per day.
Care level II. Severe need of care.
“Severe need of care” begins when help is required for at least three hours on average per day. Help is needed in the home several times a week.
Care level III. Extreme need of care.
Extreme need of care begins when help is required for at least five hours on average every day, and there is specific need of help at all times, including at night.
